Our approach to education is based on real life experience, interactions, and current events as we believe in the power of real-life experience as a way of learning that can never be forgotten. This is why throughout our courses, your child will learn how to invest in stocks through practice with a simulator, they will learn how to create a real-life business plan, and learn about today’s economy and government through the study of real-world information and current events. More importantly, at Uncommon Education you will find a community of parents and children who are focused on the success and fulfillment of their children creating a wonderful network for our students. We are constantly finding innovative ways to teach and instill healthy habits in our students.

Out of the nine factors for success, school only covers education and sometimes, skill and contacts. Uncommon Education’s goal is to equip your child with all the other factors for success through our carefully designed courses that focus not only on lessons on emotional intelligence, self awareness, logic, financial literacy, entrepreneurship and other courses that are not normally offered in our schools , but also on teaching your child to question everything, to develop healthy habits, and to understand that success and happiness are subjective, that we are all different therefore our needs are not the same.

Middle School Classes

Level 1 (Part I & II) - Middle School Students (Recommended for ages 10-12)

Our Level 1 course focuses on teaching your child mindset training and habit creation for a healthy mind and body as well as emotional intelligence in order to not only have a better understanding of their emotions, but how to manage their needs and have better interactions and relationships with others. This course will also be an introduction to basic concepts that will be useful in their lives such as an intro to money and inflation, banking, compound interest, insurance, and an intro to accounting for kids.

Level 2 (Part I & II)- Middle School Students (Recommended for ages 13-15)

Our Level 2 course focuses on teaching your child the psychology behind building habits that will help them succeed and introducing them to different types of investment vehicles. This course will also give them an introduction to subjects that will be helpful for them to make informed decisions in the future. These subjects include Real Estate, Intro to Economic Cycles, Systems and Principles, Investment Vehicles, Intro to Entrepreneurship, Monetary Policy, and a dive into stock analysis. In this level, students will also be introduced to the interpretation of financial articles with the goal of having a real life understanding of how monetary policy works depending on the economic cycle we are currently in and how events can affect stock prices and investment decisions.

High School Classes

Level 3 (Part I & Part II) - High School Students (Recommended for ages 15-16) Completion of Level 2 required.

Our Level 3 course is a more advanced course which builds on the concepts introduced on level 2 as well as introducing your child to more advanced concepts such as Lifestyle Design, Networking, Basic Accounting for businesses and Economics for businesses, Interpreting Financial Statements for investing, Excel. We understand that during Level 3 your child may be experiencing a lot of outside pressure from schoolwork and peers, so we also focus on teaching college level study skills that help deal with the anxiety they might be experiencing.

Level 4 (Part I & Part II)- High School Students (Recommended for ages 17-18) Level 3 Completion Required.

The objective of Level 4 is to prepare the student to step into the real world. This course focuses on the concepts that are necessary for success, but not necessarily taught early enough in life. In this course the student will learn how to make informed decisions for life, how to choose a career, as well as learning the tools to grow career wise. In this last course, the student will be able to schedule one on one career counseling sessions/life coaching sessions to design the ideal plan for success.

First of all, the teacher was incredible. My kids were lucky enough to have Agustina as their teacher for both of their classes. She is extremely sweet to the kids. She makes subjects like investments and banking really easy for kids to understand. My kids absolutely loved the class and asked me to take part II so I registered them for that as well. They are loving these courses. Oh! and almost forgot to mention I requested morning classes since my kids are homeschooled and they were happy to open new sessions for us.
